Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has marked UAE Flag Day during a special ceremony in the UAE capital.

HE Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development (DCD) and HE Sara Musallam, ADEK Chairman hoisted the nation’s flag in front of the ADEK building this morning, along with the higher management team from each entity.

To ensure every member of the Department’s staff could participate in one of the most patriotic dates on the UAE calendar, the flag raising ceremony was streamed online for ADEK staff to tune in virtually.

Speaking during the ceremony, HE Musallam praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and stressed that UAE Flag Day is an occasion to reflect on national unity, belonging and loyalty. HE Musallam also explained that it is an opportunity to emphasize ADEK’s role in building an inclusive education ecosystem that empowers future generations to embrace the inherent values embedded in the country’s flag.

“It is with pride that we fly our flag today, raising it as a symbol of hope and resilience. We celebrate a renewed commitment to the shared values of unity, diversity, courage and solidarity that tie all Emiratis and residents together,” said HE Sara Musallam. “As we mark UAE Flag Day, we are reminded of our duty to our nation and pledge to uphold the vision of our leadership by doing our part to nurture generations of thought-leaders and global citizens.”

Held annually on November 3, UAE Flag Day marks the date of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the role of the country’s President in 2004.
