The Guidance and Scholarship Division at the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced the opening of online registration for outstanding Emirati students in grade 12 and in universities who are offered the opportunity to study undergraduate degree in leading universities abroad.

The online application period will last for three weeks from 10th of March till 28th of March 2019. ADEK advises eligible students to visit ADEK’s website to know the relevant information about scholarship.
H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Sheryani, ADEK’s Undersecretary, indicated that the scholarship program is offered every year for Emirati talented students with a keen interest to support dynamic, innovative and rising young leaders who are already contributing to the nation’s progress. “The program offers students the opportunity to take their work to the next level through providing necessary guidance required to make their efforts more effective, while offering them the opportunity to select disciplines in demand, ones that correlate with Abu Dhabi’s market growth and sustainability.”
As part of the eligibility criteria to apply for ADEK Scholarship to study abroad, grade 12 students are required to score 85 percent in grade 11 and grade 12 or equivalent. They also must obtain an academic admission (Unconditional Offer of English Preparation and Foundation/Pathway Program) from a university recommended by ADEK, and score 1100 and above in EmSAT Math exam.
Meanwhile, university students are expected to complete a minimum of 30 credits hours with a minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalent in a university recommended by ADEK. Additionally, all applicants must pass the interview and tests required by ADEK, as well must pass IELTS (Academic) with a minimum required score of 5.5 or equivalent.
Through the scholarship, students receive a number of advantages and bonuses throughout their study period, such as covering tuition fees, monthly stipend and additional financial incentives for high achievers, in addition to travel arrangements, annual return tickets, housing allowance, textbooks, and health insurance.
ADEK encourages students who are interested and fit the scholarship criteria to prepare their documents, scan them prior to applying online. If applicants meet the requirements, they will be invited to attend the required tests and interview at ADEK. After the grade 12 final results announcement, a list of applicants who meet the scholarship eligibility criteria’s will be approved, and accepted applicants will be contacted to proceed with the scholarship activation process.
